Frequently Asked Questions

  • How many times per week do riders have riding lessons?

As many as they want! We require a minimum of once a week riding lessons, this helps promote consistency in practice and progression in skills.

  • What is the proper equipment to participate in this sport?

short paddock boots, jeans or Jodhpurs, gloves, school appropriate shirts (No thin strap or tank tops) and an

approved riding helmet. We provide helmets if you do not own one.

  • What Do I Need to Wear at my First Lesson?

For your first lesson, you do not need to purchase or bring anything special. Please wear long pants (No

shorts or capris allowed), boots or tennis shoes and girls need to have their hair pulled back into a low

ponytail. We provide equestrian approved helmets for riders. Long pants should be jeans or Jodhpurs.

Slick pants such as sweatpants and tights are not recommended.

  • What to Expect at your First Lesson:

Everyone’s first lesson focuses on safety on and off the horse. We

will show you around the facility, go over our top safety rules and allow you to meet some of the lesson

horses too! Your first lesson will include 15 minutes of grooming and learning your tack and 15 minutes

    of riding basics or evaluation.

All riders will start with a weekly beginner

private lesson and will move up to a weekly semi –private or group lesson when the instructor advances

    them based on riding ability.
